Mannix Flynn launched his election campaign last tonight in The Sugar Club, Leeson Street, Dublin. Mr Flynn will contest the local election in Dublin South East as an Independent candidate.

The launch was attended by representatives of the business and entertainment world and the campaign was endorsed by singer, Christy Moore.

What emerges from the recent publication of the Judge Ryan report to enquire into the penal system in which thousands of children were incarcerated for long periods of their lives in the Irish State is that the Irish Republic is merely a title for what really is an institutionalised country masquerading as a democracy. If ever there was evidence that the Church and the State are still one, and arm in arm and that they will protect each other no matter what look no further than this document that makes its appearance in modern Ireland 21st century.
